FEATURE B        efore we start, tell us a little            about you and your background?     I was born in Mobile, Alabama. I grew up in a modest and humble environment. I remember watching the struggles that my mother went through to keep my siblings and I taken care of. As a boy I always told my mother that one day I would build her a house and take care of her. As a boy I was very insecure due to the fact that I felt like other family members were constantly looking down on my mother and her children. At the age of eighteen, after graduating high school, I decided to join the United States Air Force. I served as both enlisted and as an officer. I was stationed all over the world due to my job as a logistics specialist. I have lived in South Korea, Turkey, Panama, Hawaii, Japan, and Alaska. I have travelled to Jamaica, Belize, Australia, Canada, Spain, Germany, Brazil, China, and other locations around   Ascension: Memories of a Journey to  ENLIGHTENMENT Editor Amanda Sweeney takes time out with self-published author Sedrick Hamilton... the globe. The book is based on a dream you had, do you often recall your dreams and why did this one stand out so much?     The book is a product of a  series of visions that I experienced over the course of several weeks. At the time I began seeking a closer relationship to God and was going through quite a rough struggle mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. I recall those dreams as vividly as when I first experienced them. It can be a very profound experience when you feel the presence of the Most High upon your being. Were you going though a particular situation in life at the time of this dream?     Yes. I was definitely going through a lot of struggles at this particular time in my life. The struggles will come in life but you realise that, throughout it all, you still have the free will to change your life for the better and inspire change in others.
