FEATURE DJ's are on the road a lot, where is home? Burton Upon Trent (it’s in the middle of Birmingham & Derby) Who is your favourite DJ and why? DJ EZ for his technical ability. Would you say he inspired you to become a DJ? Yes! Do you prefer music in the form of vinyl, CD or digital - 1. To listen to? 2. To play? It doesn’t really bother me, as long as it sounds good. I DJ from CDs or digitally though. What is your favourite track from the past 3 years and why? There are so many to chose from. My favourite song changes every week! At the minute I’m into J Hus - 'Did You See'. Old school or new school? Old school... But some of the new school stuff is really impressive at the minute. What are your favourite lyrics? And what do they mean to you? Drake’s 'Fake Love' can be relatable at times, haha. What is one thing you would change about the current music scene? I’d like DJs to get on a little bit more. Too much jealously surrounds the scene and we all need to work together rather than against each other. What’s the largest crowd you've ever played for? 5000! I know you are a multi genre DJ, but what genre is your favourite? My favourite is hip-hop & R'n'B, it's all I listen to in my own time. I heard you're dropping a single. Can you tell us more about that project and what we can expect? Yeah, we are working hard in the studio to create a sound I'd like to push forward. Nothing is scheduled to release just yet, but you can expect something special when we do. People ask me all the time when I’m going to release a single, but everything is about timing. What other projects do you have on the cards? I’ve always dreamt of headlining my own UK show. Who knows, something might just happen this year…. I hope The 411 will be the first to know! You sure will. Check out Nathan's mixes: www. mixcloud.com/nathandawe Search social: @NathanDawe 19
