A new awards ceremony has launched in the UK to celebrate the millions of women who go un-noticed or acknowledged for the selfless work they do each day. The Amazing women Awards is the brainchild of business coach and trainer Roz Thornton and the inaugural ceremony will be held over Afternoon Tea on Saturday 18th March, at the prestigious Grange Wellington Hotel, London.
Tell us more about why you wanted to create this event? After 20 years working at the grass roots stage with communities in London, I learned that we still live in an unequal society and women are still bearing the brunt of it. This event may just positively change someone’ s life. What is an Amazing Women Award for? Amazing Women Awards is to recognise the achievements of women all over the country( UK) who’ ve achieved something
against the odds. Women who’ re passionate about a cause, battled against adversity, constantly helping others or simply a great mother. It’ s for all those women tirelessly working away in the background, perhaps started a successful business or charity single-handedly. This is their turn to shine.
Why was this something you wanted to do? I was brought up in a disempowered household with domestic violence. I spent years as a broke single mum with no work / life balance, a mountain of debt and I was close to breaking point. I new I had to turn my life around so I took
inspiration from life coaches and went on an inner spiritual journey. I want to take Amazing Women global and share my skills and knowledge leaving a legacy for future generation ' s.

Rapper and activist TRULUV is leading the way in a community outreach network that is having impact one meal at a time. Tell us about the work the movement does? As far as the good works that we are doing in the city at the moment. We are counselling the homeless community in downtown, Atlanta. Linking folks up with services and resources that are provided through out the city and beyond. We are also providing around 500 gourmet meals a month to our homeless community, as well as handing out clothing, shoes and hygiene kits.
What ' s the greatest part of this project for you? The greatest part about doing the good
works in the Downtown area of Atlanta is the fellowship with the people. Most of those folks are in the toughest situation of their lives, so being able to listen to them and offer them encouragement and motivation is very rewarding not only for myself but also for the entire community.
How do your family feel about this? All of my effort ' s are supported 100 % by my wife and children. The Movement is a group effort and it stretches beyond just family and friends. We are making an impact though simple loving acts, during everyday interactions at home and in the community.
