Chairman’s chatter
The AGM was well attended and all
agreed with the proposals for the
necessary increase in Subs and
accepting the new club constitution.
This constitution (copy enclosed) puts
the club on a firm legal footing and
gives us a general guide on how a good
club should be run - although we are a
club and not the EU(!). Therefore your
committee will use this constitution for
the benefit of the club but will not get all
bureaucratic on its exact implementation,
so that we can continue to enjoy The
289 Register in the future.
A big thank you to Malcolm Smith - who
is in the process of building a Hawk 289
slabside to a very high standard - he
has volunteered to take club notes at
Committee and AGM meetings.
Well what a cracking event was the
Silverstone Classic. The club put on
a good show, together with a posh
marquee and Bill’s organisation making
it a great meeting of like-minded Cobra
owners.
As a club we have Public liability
insurance, this covers the club and its
committee in the event of a accident
occurring at an official 289 event, and
a member of the public suing the club.
