Mya  Myitzu  (Sweety)   A NIGHT TO REMEMBER Chaing Mai, Thailand is a historical place where there are different varieties of delicious food everywhere. During the fiveday trip, we experienced an assortment of traditional food and modern meals. We approached many different styles of food, but my personal favorite was the Khantoke dinner on the last day of the trip, followed by a traditional performance of Thai dancers. The instructors took us to an outdoor compound that was inside the campus. There were mats on the floor along with small tables that were filled with tiny baskets of Thai food with the flavorful aroma that consumed the air. Astonished at the sight, the whole grade divided up into groups of 5 and took a seat at a table with their food. Michelle You, Phattanat Sae Sae, Hyugo Yamaguchi, Ashley Kuo, and I were a group and that day was the most fun all of us had. There were many dishes spread out on the small tables. There were different varieties of food on the table. There was pork curry, chicken wings, sticky rice in a banana leaf, and vegetables. The sight of traditional Thai food made our eyes dance in joy. We spent the night debating about Donald Trump and laughing about political issues. After the amazing dinner, the Thai dancers performed on the platform, which sparked everyone’s interests. Finally, after the performance, we concluded the night with fireworks and lanterns. This was my favorite night and surely a night the whole 8th grade will remember.
