Employee Resource Groups: Vital to a Strong Culture Employee resource groups (ERGs) exist to promote workplace inclusion and drive engagement of employees at Cox businesses. They are designed to support not only our employees, but also our business. ERGs drive integration of diversity and inclusion and support Cox through: • Culture — Showcasing Cox’s diverse workforce and modeling the inclusive culture we strive to create. • Professional Development — Offering resources that empower employees to plan a long, successful career with Cox. • Business & Market Insights — Cultivating a space where members can provide thought leadership designed to drive business results. • Community Engagement — Positioning Cox as a community advocate through outreach and hands-on service to nonprofit organizations, building on our legacy of caring for our customers and communities. Shattering Glass Ceilings at Cox Automotive Women are in the driver’s seat at Cox Automotive. The company was recently named to the Women Tech Council’s 2018 Shatter List, which highlights organizations with inclusive cultures where women can contribute and succeed. Cox Automotive has several women among its top executives, including Janet Barnard, chief people officer; Marianne Johnson, chief product officer; and Grace Huang, president of inventory solutions. Cox Automotive also launched Women With Drive as an internal networking group, which has since expanded to include participants from across the automotive industry. ERGs at Cox are built from the ground up. In every region and market, ERGs emerge where they are needed and where employees express interest. In 2018, we established our first enterprisewide ERG, a group for veterans, service members and all who support them, known as Salute. The other supported ERGs include: • Pride • Black/African-American • Ignite/Thrive (Young Professionals) • Women/Women with Drive • ¡HOLA! (Latino) • Mosaic (Multicultural) From volunteering thousands of hours and producing hundreds of programs that advance our company, the groups continue to serve as vehicles for employee engagement, with nearly every chapter reporting increased membership year over year.
