It's no secret that Pokemon Go has caught the world's attention despite it only being in a handful of countries when it first launched earlier this summer and the that the full game hasn't even been released yet. I believe another contributor to its success is that the app started with only the 1st generation of Pokemon, rather than flood the game with all the generations at once. Overall, it's a pretty simple game. You walk around with your smartphone with the app open and glance at the radar to find Pokemon. When you find one, you tap it on your screen and you try to catch it with a PokeBall. Very simple.
Although the game is incredibly popular and has gotten many people out of the house and connecting with new friends, there has been some controversy involving cases of trespassing, muggings, and assault. But the majority response has been positive. Businesses and local PokeStops have even accommodated player with discounts and services. I guess the moral of the story is when you play, don't be stupid and wander where you shouldn't.
