Star Wars Episode VI "Return of the Jedi" came out May 24, 1983. It was the third Star Wars movie to be released. The film brought in 475.1 million dollars from the box office, bringing the total box office amount for Star Wars films to over 1.7 billion dollars.
In Star Wars Episode VI "Return of the Jedi" the empire is constructing a second Death Star. It's up to the rebellion to destroy it. After freeing Han Solo, fulfilling a promise, and arriving on the planet Endor to disable the Death Star's shield, Luke Skywalker confronts his father, Darth Vader. Luke must face his father to restore the Jedi and eliminate the Sith; meanwhile his friends battle to destroy the Death Star and its shield. Luke has to try to bring his father back to the Light side of the Force before his friends end their struggle with the empire to destroy the Death Star, which he is on with his father. The rebellion fight to restore peace and the balance of the Force in the galaxy.
What I liked about Star Wars Episode VI "Return of the Jedi" was the way it tied up all the loose ends and had a very happy ending. I liked the way everything worked out for the rebellion and the Jedi for it to triumph over the empire and the Sith against all odds. I really loved the way the movie ended. The Sith and the empire were destroyed. The Jedi had returned. Even the evil Darth Vader turned back to the Light side of the Force.
I especially love the last scene where we see the Jedi
ghosts of Yoda, Obi-wan, and Anakin all together in
the trees of the ewoks who look like little teddy
bears dancing and playing music in celebration.
