Finding Dory
Movie Review
By Angela Helm
In this long awaited sequel, when Dory remembers that she has a family, she sets off across the ocean to find them with Marlin and Nemo in tow. Along the way she meets new friends that help her as she searches for her parents. In the end, Dory realizes that despite her short term memory loss, she is able to do anything she puts her mind to.
Disney/Pixar did a great job of doing Finding Nemo justice. Finding Dory has the same charm as the first movie. Which was quite nice to see because sometimes that doesn’t translate in sequels. This movie makes great use of flashbacks that seamlessly tie together Dory's childhood memories and the present.
Some of the prominent themes in the movie are to put your trust in others because they’re more capable than you might think, that you can do anything you put your mind to even if you don’t think you can, and to not give up because there’s always another way.
Overall, this is a wonderful movie, that both people who grew up with Finding Nemo and kids who are just getting introduced to it, will greatly enjoy.
