REVIEW

The Amazing Race has been on television since 2001, it is a reality competition where teams of 2 race around the world for a million dollars. Each episode is the beginning of a new "leg" of the race where they have to navigate through areas of the world, and complete tasks which are usually themed to that specific country's culture. Each leg of the race has 5 main factors.

First the starting point of the race. Second they get info throughout the race tells the contestants where to go next. Third is a road block where only one of the teammates can complete without the help of their partner. Fourth is a detour where there are two tasks and the team must pick one and complete it before moving on. Lastly, there is the pit stop which signifies the end of the leg and the last team on the mat is the one eliminated, (except during special non-elimination legs which happen once or twice a season). It is fun to see where each season takes the team and which countires they visit.

In the past seasons, people usually applied or went to casting calls to be on the show with their partner. In the current season all of the contestants were recruited and the similar factor between all of them was that they had a large social media presence. That makes many of the contestants recognizable and brings in a new type of audience for the show. I have watched around 16 out of all the seasons and it is one show I look forward to each week. Who would you pick as your partner if you were on the Amazing Race? A sibling, parent, friend?
