I t gives me great pleasure to wish all Thatchfield residents a merry Christmas and happy New Year. Christmas is often a time when we can look back at the year and reflect. This year has once again been a very successful year for Curro Thatchfield and I’d like to thank our residents for partnering with us. I am very aware that not everyone will be able to take a break from work and if you are one of the people working through the Christmas period, please make sure to spare a little time for your family. However you choose to celebrate Christmas, I wish you a happy and safe festive season. Importance Notice – Water Restrictions Individuals caught wasting water to drown in fines We call on all Thatchfield residents to please use water sparingly and abide by the restriction guidelines prescribed by Tshwane to conserve water. In the Centurion Rekord, dated 4 November 2016, an article warned that residents who waste water could be fined up to R20 000. The Executive Mayor of the City of Tshwane, Solly Msimanga, said a special task team had been formed to monitor water usage and issue spot fines to water wasters. See Tshwane website for details (http://www.tshwane. gov.za/Pages/Media-Releases.aspx). Leaking Water Meters Kindly note that residents can report leaking water meters to [email protected] or call 012 358 9999 for urgent escalation. Should you wish to renew your domestic worker’s access card, please pre-arrange with the Thatchfield Office via email to admin2@ thatchfield.co.za or [email protected]. For your own safety and security, we appeal to residents not to employ any of the foreigners sitting outside the gates. Residents are reminded to check their employee’s identity documents and ensure that it is an original document. Asylum seeker documents will indicate a watermark when held against light. The Thatchfield Management Office will only issue an access card for the period that the permit is valid. It’s imperative that applicants with a passport also be in possession of a work permit. We request that residents provide us with a residential address for employees when applying for an access card. If you no longer wish to employ a domestic worker or gardener, please destroy their estate access cards and inform the estate office to amend their records. pg 16 Thatchfield News
