Good love
Good day and welcome to your Monday Kingdom Connection with Minister Angela! I'm super excited about our devotionals this week because we are going to take TRUTH to it's next level. It's one thing to discuss what Bible says but it's equally important to know what is NOT saying. Often time, "flipping the script" paints an even clearer picture and gives us a more realistic view of ourselves and how we truly think.
Today we will begin with a biblical passage that provides the greatest description of love. It is found in I Corinthians 13 and I want to just take the "Intro".
The Greatest Gift
1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so
that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing.
In this passage, Apostle Paul begins with 6 very powerful descriptors of a BELIEVER who can:
1. Speak with tongues of men and of ANGELS!!!!
2. Walk in the GIFT of PROPHECY!!!
3. Understand ALL MYSTERIES & KNOWLEDGE!!!
4. Have faith enough to REMOVE MOUNTAINS!!!!!
5. Give ALL THEIR GOODS to feed the poor!!!!
6. Give THEIR BODY to be burned!!!!
Now if we will perfectly honest, there MAT be 1 or 2 things out of that list we can do and in any case, this makes you a pretty impressive believer. Operating in any of these 6 actions would make you a phenomenal person. We all would have to recognize the superiority of your ability to do any of these things. There is no argument there. The kicker is, however, Paul by the Holy Spirit called these great, incredible, superior acts:
1) The sound of brass or clanging symbols
2) A person who is NOTHING
3) A person who has PROFITED NOTHING
It went from bad to worst to almost ridiculous! If I give MY body to burned, you are telling me I'm nothing and I have not profited ANYTHING???
The answer is: WithOUT LOVE- absolutely. God wants us know that we can do all manner of things, even supernatural things that require HIS enabling and we can still be NOTHING and PROFIT NOTHING in HIS sight if it is not done from and with love.
Showcasing our supernatural connection and divine
impartations do not make us
acceptable in
God's sight nor
His will. One of
the scariest
passages in the
Bible is warns us
22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Matthew 7:22-23
Even understanding the Word of God, teaching to others and removing the blinders from their mind without LOVE means is loud noise from a worthless person who is not pleasing God with their life and lifestyle.
Committing altruistic acts but with a motivation that is not acceptable to God is not favorable for this individual.
We do things, in many cases for all types of reasons. We must never forget does God really does know our hearts. He knows EVERY time
