it s to tell God we know better than He does so shut up. We may call ourselves loving ourselves but we are merely setting ourselves up to oppose the Most High King.
When we seek after things, and sacrifice our walk with God in order to gain and maintain things in the natural we are not loving ourselves. We may tell ourselves, 'Hey I deserve this because....'but all we are truly doing is allowing ourselves to operate from the lust of our eyes.
When we allow our flesh to partake of its every desire, be it sex, drugs, food, etc.. then we are not loving ourselves we are feeding into the lust of our flesh. We are not treating our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. We are dismissing the fact that God is present in us and He doesn't leave but He IS grieved as we carelessly abuse what He has fearfully and wonderfully made.
We must be careful about crossing the final line. While God won't leave us or forsake us, He won't stay where He is not welcomed. He won't rule and reign where He is not invited to. He won't save an individual who does not want to be saved and our ACTIONS speak loud and clear to Him. They speak when we fall and they speak in how we repent. God knows when we are most sincere about stopping and wanting our desires changed as well as when, That AIN'T Love!
The world will pass away WITH these very desires but loving God with all of our heart, mind and soul will gain us eternal life!
Let us pray:
Dear God,
We thank You for clear minds and open hearts! Thank You for revealing where we are in Who's Loving Who. Have Your way Holy Spirit. Convict us and then transform us. Make us into the image of Christ our King. Let us live as written epistles before the world. Let us be mighty witness that falling in love with Jesus was the best thing we ever did. Give us clean hearts that worship only You. In Jesus' name we pray. AMEN AMEN!!
