A parent sent us an appeal for aid...
My son is 10 years old (turning 11 on August 7) and this year was the first
time he has really suffered at the hands of bullies in his school who call him
stupid and mock him for his stutter. The bullying affects him terribly. I just had
a speech IEP meeting at his school and the guidance counselor said he had
the worst stutter she ever heard in a child his age, despite 5 years of in-school
speech therapy with a wonderful SLP whom we adore. My son is about to
start middle school and desperately needs a boost to his confidence and to be
around other children with whom he can feel comfortable and accepted.
