Shannon's (live-love-behappyxo) Story
Dear Nellie,
My name is Shannon, and you have impacted my life in so many amazing ways. I live in Michigan and I am so sad that I can’t come to the show, because of distance and expense. However I wanted to write you this letter, to let you know how much that you have touched my life.
Watching you on the glee project honestly changed my whole life, how I viewed myself and how I viewed the world. Before watching the show I was getting so severely bullied in school, I was called horrendous names. Which later led me to develop anorexia, which I have been dealing with for over 2 years now. Watching you on the show has given me the strength to not give up on life, because I have now learned that it is a beautiful thing not to take for granted.
Nellie, you have taught me that I am beautiful regardless of what other say or think about me. You have helped me to realize that I am not those mean and nasty words. That I am a person who deserves to be loved for who they really are. Also you have made it clear to me, that I need to move on from the dark past and look forward to the bright and prosperous future. Tomorrow is always a new day, and I need to take it one step at a time.
Nellie, I am in tears as I write this letter to you, because you are honestly my world model in so many ways. You empower me to be my best always, and to always think positively. You have taught me that even shy, awkward girls can achieve their goals and biggest dreams. They just have to stay focused and determined.
Some days Nellie, you are the only reason that I don’t go back to starving myself to be accepted by others. Sometimes I just listen to some of your songs to get me through the day. They always put a smile on my face after all. They make me happy, even on the roughest of days.
My heart was touched the day you watched my youtube video I made for you, I only cried for a few hours. Also the day I talked to you on the radio. It made me smile.
As I close up this letter I just want to tell you that you are amazing inside and out. You inspire me so deeply in my soul. I want to meet you one day Nellie, i really do. We will make it happen ok? Nellie stay you, because that person is so amazing. I love you so very much, have a wonderful life, I know you will go so far with your amazing talent.
