My TGP Project Post
A thank you to all the contenders
Going into the summer, I had never heard of or watched The Glee Project, but I noticed someone that I followed on YouTube was competing on it (shout out to Dani Shay). I decided that watching it was on my list of things I must do over the summer, and was so excited to see everyone on the show. Watching it I had my favorites, of course, but I really did not see anyone at all that I disliked. I loved each contender, and was sad each week when someone went home, even though I knew it was inevitable. I had recently been going through a rough time, and each person on the show taught me something I wont forget.
Aylin: You showed me that no matter what background you came from, if there is something holding back from who you truly are as a person, nothing can stop you from being yourself. Whether it is religion, or anything else, being yourself is key.
Maxfield: Although we didn’t get to see much of you, you showed me that it’s not ever to late to start something that you’re passionate about. Because you can’t succeed if you don’t start.
Ali: Oh Ali you ray of sunshine, you. No matter what you have gone through, no matter what in life has pushed you down, always stay positive.
Tyler: Tyler I could go on forever about you. You are hilarious and amazing, and taught me something I needed to see. Whatever anyone else tells you, about who you are, what you should be like, or how you should be, look inside yourself first. No one can tell you who or what you should be but yourself.
Scott CambellCharlie: Being silly and creative is always good. Don’t give it up.
Michael: It’s ok to like and be good at math. Also, being young doesn’t mean you can’t be great at what you do. Effort is key.
Mario: Never let anything stop you.
Nellie: I feel like if I wrote all the things I learned from Nellie I would have too many pages to submit. But in short, I saw myself in her, more than I’ve ever seen in someone before, let alone on a reality television show, and it was great to see her confidence grow from the show and damn girl that voice! But anyways, yes, Nellie I learned too much from you to put in this short little couple sentence piece, but I love you, and thank you so much for answering my question about getting over a sister’s death on stimulus podcast, it helped. You’re amazing. Also glad you liked the wolf ring.
Abraham: If you think something is unfair, protest it. Whether it is getting racially categoried by your neighbor, or going up against Ryan Murphy (which was probably terrifying).
Shanna: You taught me to never give in to bullying.
Dani: I’m so thankful that I started watching The Glee Project because I saw your audition on your channel. I honestly don’t know where I would be if I hadn’t watched, so I have you to thank. You’re awesome, and thank you for showing me it’s ok to not be what people think is stereotypical, or to conform to it.
