Question 7 Who are your greatest influences or role models

I admire Princess Diana, Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters, and several friends who are not as well known. The three famous women embody strength, talent, motivation, and strong communication. All of them handled being in the public eye very well, and I aspire to be like them. Other friends I admire include Kathy Navejas and Katherine Orho. Both women are very diligent and hardworking. They know how to stay organized and get the job done. I hope I can be more like them.

They were also several men in my life who made a great impact. In high school, I worked at Jack Murphy Stadium and there was a boss by the name of Chris Cox. He was always a person I admired and looked up to for advice and suggestions. Likewise, I lived across the street from Crosby Milne who walked along with Cesar Chavez and helped San Diego School District as well. He was a man who taught me in all challenges there are blessing and good things.

Being one of  seven children, Crosby Milne’s, wisdom and blessings are still a major facet to my personality. Tom Lenzo, a friend from American Society of Training and Development introduced me to TEDx. There I met Greg Apodecca who gave me in turn for my volunteer services, life coaching which helped me write a book and speak on the TEDx stage.

Through TEDx I met John K Bates who was instrumental in my TEDx coaching and became a mentor for my public speaking. My first TEDx was under the direction of Don Levy.  The talk was written over 30 times and practiced well over 50 times even as I was at the presidential inauguration. . My first TEDx talk was “Language Comes to  Life”. Second “Coming Around the Curve.. Third was “Breaking Cultural Barriers” . I am working on another as we speak: TV Trauma to Triumph.
