Follow Your Heart
A
South African-American bombshell, Charlize Theron’s enticing,
magnetic on-air charisma and charm have earned her fans across
the globe. She’s scored Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and
Screen Actor Guild Awards. Most recently, however, it’s the 41-year-
old’s work beyond the big screen that is the most meaningful to her.
The adoptive mother of two leads a simple, low-maintenance life. She
doesn’t have to work all the time to live, giving her time to focus on
her two young children and her efforts for the Charlize Theron Africa
Outreach Project (CTAOP), which helps to support African youth in the
fight against HIV/AIDS. She’s also vocal about women’s rights and is
an active member of PETA. “It’s such a blessed place to be in. I don’t
have to take a job to pay a mortgage on a house that I can’t afford,”
she’s said in interviews.
Her life comes first, which is something we should all strive for. While
most of us don’t have the types of careers that afford us the luxury to
work at-will, leading a simple, fulfilling life where giving back is a prior-
ity is something we can all aspire to. Turn to Theron’s story inside for
inspiration on how to follow what’s in your heart.
Of course, that’s hard to do if you’re in pain or have health issues, which
is why LIVING WELL is dedicated to bringing you the latest health and
wellness information from leading professionals in their fields. Inside
you’ll find a wealth of tools to lead a more healthful life. For instance,
turn to page 38 for six steps on how to heal your thyroid. Or, turn to
page 46 to learn about advances in pain management. There’s more,
of course. So jump in and get reading.
Sincerely,
Sam and Spring Houston
