Japanese committed an attack on Pearl Harbor based on bombings and
kamikaze fighters. The United States was completely weak after this attack,
they were humiliated; in consequence, they had to enter the war; The
Pacific War. Various battles like the Guadalcanal and Midway, were fought
greatly and bravely to achieve victory and chase the Japanese ¨Japs¨ out of
the pacific. In 1945, USA got a letter from Albert Einstein, claiming that the
Germans are starting to develop an Atomic
Bomb, and that the US should start
developing one as well. What better chance
to get back at the Japanese than this? A US
bomber called “Enola Gay” traveled all the
way to Japan to drop two bombs; Little
Boy in Hiroshima, and Fat Man in
Nagasaki. After these attacks, Japan
declared their unconditional surrender.
These events proved the US as a strong
enemy to the rest of the Axis powers.
“The Little Boy” nuclear bomb
Post-war, the US started receiving payments for all the loans,
weapons, supplies, etc. They made sure nothing like the Great Depression
could ever happen again. They created world-wide fear when they showed
what only two nuclear bombs can do to cities, and declared themselves
global nuclear powers too. Since this moment of time, the USA is now
known as a superpower, the country with the best and most fearful army,
and overall one of the most powerful countries in the world.
