environmental protections and safety standards. Texas leads the nation in both traditional and alternative energy production, and is a national leader in ozone reduction, cutting NOx emissions by 64% and sulfur dioxide by 32%.”
General Abbott added, “I have repeatedly defended Texas’ environmental protection laws against federal agencies that threaten our economy and job growth, including bringing 18 cases against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). I will continue to defend Texas against an overreaching federal government.”
We hear more about Natural Gas being utilized in the public sector and want to encourage its use more in the future along with the growth in the private sector. Ms. Larivey asked, “How will you continue to support the Natural Gas Initiatives set forth by the Texas Railroad Commission?” General Abbott clearly replied, “Texas public policy should and does support natural gas, including making funds available for government vehicles like school buses. In 2012, Texas became the third largest producer of natural gas in the world. In just a few years, the natural gas industry has made a complete turnaround from prices at an all time high and supply uncertain to an abundant supply at a historically low cost. Its affordability and lower carbon content make natural gas a win for Texas. I support two existing state programs encouraging the use of natural gas as a fuel, including for government vehicles.”
“The greatest thing about Texas is a powerful sense of freedom. Individual Freedom. Freedom to be an aggressive entrepreneur or small business owner. We have the freedom to live a life that was intended to be guaranteed in the United States of America. And I want you to know that, as your governor, I will preserve, protect, and promote your freedom to pursue your entrepreneurial dreams. We want you to succeed because when you succeed, Texas succeeds. So all that we ask is that you keep drilling, you keep hiring, and that you keep Texas prosperous. God Bless ” graciously said Attorney General Greg Abbott.
