Texas Oil & Gas goes inside the Wood Group Duval's Vestibulum(USD) fabrication openingatofits site in Kenedy, Texas. velit orci new $1 million facility The energy services company held a ceremony to mark the opening of a purpose built, two-floor facility spanning 8,400 square feet (780 square meters) at its site in Kenedy on October 3, 2013, and Texas Oil & Gas magazine was there to tour it. The new premises boast a large indoor workshop for welding and construction, featuring in-built overhead bridge cranes and new office space. Providing maintenance, installation and fabrication services to the South Texas onshore oil and gas market, notably to operators in the Eagle Ford shale region, Wood Group Duval employs 400 people with approximately 250 people based onsite in Kenedy, and 150 people spread across locations in Freer, Carrizo Springs and Zapata. This is the first in a series of planned expansion projects for Wood Group Duval on the Kenedy site. In anticipation of future growth, the company has ear marked over $11 million (USD) of additional investment to build accommodation units to house up to 200 site-based employees and bring a new, dedicated training facility to the site. When speaking with Rene Casas, Wood Group Duval president, he said: “We are expanding our site facilities at Kenedy to meet the growing demand for our services in the Eagle Ford shale region. This is the largest Wood Group Duval operation and in the last year, we have increased the size of our workforce by 100 people.
