Summary Findings of All Respondents
X 60 % of U . S . respondents compared to 59 % of Texas respondents reported that they were satisfied or very satisfied with their rate of pay .
X 61 % of respondents reported receiving a salary increase as of January 2020 . The two most common reasons were annual review ( 58 %) and cost of living ( 12 %).
X 48 % selected the top reason for being certified was to increase their knowledge , skills , and abilities .
X Those IJCAHPO core certified as an Ophthalmic Assistant , Ophthalmic Technician , or Ophthalmic Medical Technologist , reported an average increase in their salary ( 17 %) as compared to those who were non-certified .
X Employer paid days off ( holidays , vacations , etc .) were the most common benefits reported by respondents in Canada and International . While in the U . S ., the most common benefits reported were health insurance related .
X Only a small percent ( 7 %) reported to have ever received a pay cut in this field ( not associated with COVID-19 ). The most common reasons were relocation ( 31 %) and company-wide pay cuts ( 31 %).
