THE JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS HAVE NOMINATED SIXTH-YEAR DT MALIK JACKSON FOR THE WALTER PAYTON NFL MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD. Representing the best of the NFL’s commitment to philanthropy and community impact, Jackson was selected as the Jaguars’ Man of the Year and is now eligible to win the national award. Considered one of the League’s most prestigious honors, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recognizes an NFL player for outstanding community service activities off the fi eld as well as excellence on the fi eld. Jackson has a long history of supporting the military, especially in the Jacksonville community. Jackson’s own foundation, Malik’s Gifts, supports military, at-risk youth and their families, as well as pet adoption. Through Malik’s Gifts, Jackson has sponsored multiple events designed to support the military. In 2017, Jackson committed $5,000 to Jacksonville’s Five Star Veterans Center that provides safe and secure housing for displaced veterans facing homelessness and unemployment. His donation will specifi cally be used to enhance the center’s career division, adding new paint, offi ce computers, webcams for Skype interviews, desks and chairs to aid in veterans’ ability to build their resumes and apply for jobs.
