DPA targets fast-paced
applications with necklace mic
FEATURING DPA’S acclaimed
4061 omnidirectional miniature
microphone capsule, the d:screet
range has been expanded with the
addition of a miniature necklace
mic, whilst 4066 and 4088
capsules have been added to
d: ne.

THE INCLUSION of a pilot tone in
the new TG 100 wireless system
from beyerdynamic is being hailed by
the manufacturer as ‘setting a new
benchmark’ at the entry-level price
point. The VHF system is available as

for use by non-technicians. The
4061 capsule provides ‘clean
and transparent sound with lots
of headroom’, and therefore the
mic is best suited to logistically
awkward environments, such as
reality show settings or theatrical
performances, where mounting
speed an d sound quality is
paramount.
The manufacturer has also added
its 4066 and 4088 capsules to
d: ne range of headset microphones.
The new models comprise the d: ne
66 and d: ne 88.
When the Danish-manufacturer

microphones a few years ago, the
company met a market demand
that did not infringe on the
popularity of the original 4066 and
4088s. Thanks to the popularity
of both microphone lines, the
manufacturer has now added
the d: ne 66 omni and d: ne 88
cardioid microphones.
The new models are stated to be
ideal for broadcast applications
with vocal performers, or
environments where users must
be able to move freely. The new
capsules give singers the sound
quality of the 4066/4088 capsules
combined with d: ne’s exible
ear-mount.

The TG 100 receiver
either a handheld and belt-pack set.
The TG 100 receiver offers
simpli ed control via two dials
operating channel selection and
volume. Status LEDs are included to
indicate the main operating states,
while the assembly is 1U in height
with up to three devices able to t
side-by-side into a standard 19inch rack-space. The handheld set
includes the TG 100H supercardioid
transmitter, while the belt-pack set
offers the TG 100B belt-pack and
TG H34c headset. Both versions
reportedly work effectively up
to distances of 80m, while the
transmitters deliver approximately 10
hours of battery life.
The system – which is being offered
with three different frequency ranges
– can access up to 24 frequencies
simultaneously. Eight channels are
available for each frequency band.
Also new from the German
manufacturer are two accessories for
its installation microphones series,
including a mic base and an LED ring.
The GMB 33/35 S microphone
base is available in two versions for
gooseneck microphones with (5-pin
version) or without (3-pin version) an
LED ring. The on-off button is backlit
in red to indicate the status while
several GMB 35 S 5-pin versions can
be used in conjunction with a DSP
device as a basic conference system.
Meanwhile, the BMR LED ring is
intended for use with Classis BM
series boundary microphones,
indicating the status of
teleconferences or video conferences
by illuminating in different colours.
The BMR is controlled via a media
control system or the logic output of
a DSP mixer.

L Series debuts with three times the bandwidth
WITH A three fold increase
in spectrum bandwidth and a
similar pro le as other wireless
transmitters on the market,
Lectrosonics has debuted its new
L Series ‘Large Bandwidth’ line of
wireless microphones comprising
the LMb, LT, and LR models.
Capable of transmitted signals
from 67.5 to 76.8MHz, all three
beltpack transmitters/receivers
employ the manufacturer’s
Digital Hybrid Wireless technology
enabling compandor-free audio
and compatibility modes for
interoperability with older analogue
systems.
The LMb is a beltpack transmitter
designed for theatre, houses
of worship, TV, video and lm
production. The box is made from
an all-metal housing and contains
a wire belt clip, 50mW of RF power,
25 or 100kHz tuning steps (yielding
up to 3,072 selectable frequencies)
and an integrated multi-function
The LMb, LR, and LT L Series beltpacks
switch with menu-selectable
modes for power, mute or talkback.
Power can be provided by two AA
batteries, and there is a graphic
LCD and membrane switch panel
plus IR sync port to aid in setup and
operation.

The LT transmitter contains all
of the features found in the LMb,
with the addition of user-selectable
RF transmission power of 50
or 100mW, and a detachable
antenna. Also, the LT responds to
remote commands from either a
Lectrosonics RM remote unit or via
its associated smartphone app.
As well as the manufacturer’s
standard microphone input, there
is a 1-megaohm instrument input
present, and like the LMb, power
can be provided by two AA batteries.
Applications for the LT transmitter
include TV and lm production,
ENG, stage, musical instruments,
camera hops, corporate A/V, and
many others.
At the other end of the chain,
the third L Series product is the
LR receiver. This unit has been
designed to be ‘ultra-portable’,
enabling use alongside DSLR, 4/3,
small 4K, and other compact HD
cameras.
The receiver features wide tuning
bandwidth with tracking front-end
lters that the manufacturer states
‘avoids the vulnerabilities of wider
pass bands’. Tuning steps are user
selectable at 25 or 100kHz, and
in-built compatibility modes enable
it to operate with older analogue
transmitters. The unit has two
antennas to improve range and
resistance to dropouts, and utilises
SmartTrue to quickly lock-on to
clean frequencies on site.
Additional features include a
backlit LCD, detachable antennas,
and a machined aluminium shell.
The unit is powered with two AA
batteries.
In addition to L Series,
Lectrosonics has released a line
of user-assembled kits. Intended
as a cost-saving alternative to its
more expensive SRb dual-channel
receivers, the kit comprises
all of the mechanical housing
components – over 1,100 parts –
which when self-assembled, create
a 50 per cent saving over the preassembled kits.
