TO FURTHER complement its
existing product family and
particularly its SW18 and SW28
cabinets, ProAudio Technology
has debuted its new high-power
SW12 subwoofer.
The speaker is a directradiating subwoofer for use
with its System amplifiers.

A second release from Ohm aims
to replace the need for a number
of individual speakers, and as
a result, wiring and installation
costs. The manufacturer’s OS-12

features a 12-inch woofer coupled
to a ‘conical radiator’ and four high
frequency dynamic ring radiators

Capable of operating both in

acoustically compatible with the
larger SW18 and SW28 subwoofers
as a result of their virtually
identical frequency responses, and
contains stacking feet to facilitate
an easy-set-up. The cabinet
unit has built-in DSP and output
power up to 3,800W, in a 3U format,
and can be coupled with up to ve
hardware modules yet still t in a
19-inch rack.
The integrated 96kHz DSP can
be accessed via Ethernet, USB or
Ohm’s Spyder software. There is
also an XLR input and link, which
can accept a mono analogue or
stereo AES digital signal.

GOING ‘WHERE no sub has gone
before’, Ohm’s Infra-Sub has now
been unveiled. The cabinet houses
two extra long excursion 18-inch
drivers with a continuous power
handling of 2,400W producing
a max SPL of 136dB. Capable
of outputting down to 21Hz, the
infra-sub can couple with the
manufacturer’s TRS-218 making
it ideally suited to bass-heavy
electronic music such as dubstep or
drum and bass.
Ohm recommends using the
subwoofer in the ratio of one per

Amadeus releases its most compact
speakers
DESCRIBED AS the most compact
in its line, Amadeus has released
the PMX4, a miniature 4-inch
coaxial loudspeaker. The French
manufacturer has also announced
a new subwoofer in the form of the
ML 8.
The PMX 4 has been designed
for sound professionals wishing to
combine high sonic delity with an
ultra-compact format for spacelimited installation or live use. This
release of the speaker completes
the PMX Series, which includes the
15-, 12-, 10-, 8- and 5-inch models,
and is available in passive, selfpowered and EtherSound-enabled
versions.
Available in several different
standard colours, the speaker can
also be ordered in a ‘made-tomeasure’ nish using materials such
as wenge, wacapou, wamara, ebony,
as well as more traditional timbers
such as white sycamore and oak.
The release of the speaker comes
off the back of convergent requests
from composers, designers and
scenographers, who were looking
for a highly accurate, transparent,
neutral sounding speaker in a
miniature format. Amadeus feels its
Amadeus’ PMX 4
latest offering provides just that.
Continuing with the theme
of scaling down, the company
The new ML8
has also released the ML 8,
the smallest speaker in the ML
Series. The cabinet is an 8-inch

subwoofer designed for spacelimited installation or live use. The
subwoofer has been designed to
pair with the PMX 4.
The cabinet has been built around
a proprietary internal reinforcement
structure designed to neutralise any
standing waves and suppress energy
loss. According to the manufacturer,
this creates a dramatic cut in the
level of cabinet colouration, by using
interlocking panels arranged in two
perpendicular planes.
The subwoofer draws 600W peak
power (8-ohm) and produces 118dB
peak SPL, and like the PMX 4, the
ML 8 is available with the same
selection of nishes.

horizontal spectrum, forming a 360x 140-degrees coverage pattern.
Designed for installation into
airports, gymnasiums, factories or
clubs, the input panel contains two
ying eyes and two Speakon NL4FC
connectors. There are two ceilingmount suspension points, and in
environments with a suspended

be partially or completely hidden.
Last up from the British
manufacturer is the Daisy range of
Class-D ampli er modules. Housed
in an ‘extruded aluminium pod’, the

channel mute buttons. Mains power
is via a Powercon, and outputs are
on eight-pole Speakon connectors.
There are four models in the
range; the DM-1 (1-channel), DM-2
(2-channel), DM-3 (3-channel) that
each produce 2,500W output on the
rst channel followed by 800W for
subsequent channels, and the DM-4
(2-channel) providing dual 800W
outputs.
