First Vive Audio cinema
system arrives in Asia
Beijing’s Wanda Plaza Cinema
CHINA: Christie Vive Audio
cinema sound system has been
installed into the state-of-the-art
Hall 9 auditorium at Beijing’s
Wanda Plaza, marking the rst
appearance of the system by a
major cinema operator in Asia.
Wanda Cinema Line is currently
the largest movie theatre operator
in China with a total of 1,247
screens, 89 of which are IMAX.
In Hall 9’s 300-seat auditorium,
which features a huge wall-to-wall
screen and premium seating, the
audio system installed has been
setup according to Dolby Atmos
speci cations.

The total system comprises
combinations of more than 50
Vive Audio speakers, including
LA3 screen channel speakers,
S215 subwoofers, and S218s for
Low Frequency Effects channels.

Providing surround capabilities
are LA3S and LA5S mounted to
the walls, with LA3C and LA5C
speakers attached to the ceiling.

As well as the speaker
installation, Hall 9’s visuals were
given a boost. The auditorium’s
old 2K projector was replaced
with a new Christie 4K digital
cinema projector, making it a truly
immersive theatre.

to screen The Great Hypnotist,
which is the closing lm for the 4th
Beijing International Film Festival,
and received the thumbs-up
from director Leste Chen for an
engaging cinematic experience,’
