BUSINESS: SHOW REVIEW

The opening ceremony
ALTHOUGH INFOCOMM CHINA IS
positioned as a professional audiovisual exhibition, video has always
been the top priority. But walking into
this year’s show it was clear that the
audio portion had also been given a
high priority.
The exhibition was the largest ever,
occupying all six halls of the National
Convention Center. The exhibition
area was up to 45,000 sq-m, which
was an increase of nearly 30 per cent
over the previous edition, and 249
exhibitors from 12 countries were
present.
‘More and more companies choose
to launch their most important new
technologies and new products at
InfoComm China, which truly re ects
the increasingly important position of
the Chinese and Asian markets in the
minds of global manufacturers,’ said
InfoComm Asia director Chen Tingfu.
This view was echoed by the
exhibitors. Wu Wei, GM of Yu Kang
International travelled from Canada
to attend the exhibition and brought
along Yorkville speakers and
Roland’s M-200i mixer. ‘InfoComm
China is already a major domestic
industry event. Exhibitors and visitors
are increasing year by year, so we
cannot miss this opportunity.’
This is something Wang Shanmei
from Klotz also observed. ‘The
number of visitors seems to be
more on the rst day, our agent’s
stand was packed with visitors and
they expressed high interest in our
products.’
‘This is our fourth time participating
in this exhibition; the number of
NEW!
visitors has improved signi cantly
over last year,’ added Xilica MD Tim
Cheung. ‘In order to show how much
we value this exhibition, we invited
painters to creatively integrate our
global applications and products to
improve our display. The result was
good.’
After previous successful shows,
Li Gang, the operations director of
Jiang Yuan Ri Sheng was determined
to have another good year. ‘We saw
an obvious effect of the show after
2013, so we decided to put in more
effort for this year in order to open
up an opportunity window for the
development of the company.’
As the domestic agent of
Clockaudio, McCauley, Triangle
Speakers and Cornered Audio, Hui
Xin has been a long term exhibitor
at InfoComm China, and GM Huang
Wenbiao has clear opinions on its
merit. ‘This show is de ned as a
systems integration exhibition, but
the number of visitors is more than
some of the professional audio
exhibitions.’
Moving around the halls, there
was plenty for the audio visitors to
see. Zhuo Xin divided its booth into
sections, including areas for HK
Audio’s Elements series and Pulsar
series, CVS speakers, BSS Audio
Soundweb, Sabine SC Series DSP
and CUE intelligent central control
system.
Elsewhere, Tendzone introduced
the E-Media integrated multimedia
interactive system. Tico Zhongdian
showcased Biamp’s new networked
audio system solutions. In addition
Taiden’s HCS-8328 Series paperless
multi-media conference system was
a major highlight of the show.
As the agent of QSC, the booth of
PCI-China was simple and open. The
stand played host to Q-Sys networked
audio system and SVSi video
transmission system demonstrations,
whilst QSC’s Rick Zwiebel used
the show’s forum to give two
The Budee team
presentations. Indeed, the education
programme is always a highlight of
InfoComm China, and this year a total
of 39 free sessions took place.
Moving to some of the manufacturer
booths, Audio-Technica not only
brought its latest ES947/LED and
ES945/LED for demonstration, but
Clear-Com China sales manager
Ferren Hu
also provided visitors with further
new solutions. ‘The show was very
successful, and our booth was
constantly busy,’ noted Tao Yong,
GM of A-T’s PA department. ‘Visitors
expressed a high degree of interest
in Audio-Technica products.’
Sennheiser has been participating
in the show for many years, and
always occupies the same location.
This year, in addition to its newly
launched microphones, the LSP
500 PRO and speakers from K-Array
