"I was honored to be at their house because it had shaped me so much"

John and Corrine Petty

This picture was taken around 1942. Paw Paw served in Patton's Third Army during WWII as part of the Artillery. I proudly wore the Third Army Patch from my service during Operation Enduring Freedom. (top picture previous page-both uniforms)

Temple Baptist Church

Paw Paw walked up the hill from their front yard to church every Sunday morning. He served as a Deacon at this church for many years. Maw Maw, having had knee replacement surgery, had a lot of difficulty getting around.-so Paw Paw would walk back home to drive her for up for worship service. They loved this church and the church loved them in return. Had the honor of attending several Easter services with them there.

The Garden

Grass also covers Paw Paw's garden spot. He always kept a huge garden with okra, squash, tomatoes, and cucumbers along with many other vegetables.

Paw Paw's Parking Spot

This is the spot where my Grandfather parked his truck and trailer. The passing years have seen this spot covered with grass.
