Country's political and social ideologies influences housework division
Scandinavian countries, such as Norway, Sweden, and Finland, are more social democratic. Widespread government services assist families, including highly subsidized childcare which encourages greater LFPR. As a result, housework can also be paid for by a wife’s salary.
This social democratic approach also creates a much different perspective on maternal employment. In Denmark, for instance, only 2 in 10 women believe that mothers should stay home with their pre-school children while 6 in 10 women in New Zealand feel that they should.
