PGA Disaster Relief Fund Contribution: Paul Earnest and Mark Harrison discussed the possibility of making a contribution to the PGA’s Disaster Relief Fund. The fund was created to provide assistance to PGA members who find themselves faced with temporary financial problems due to medical emergencies or natural disasters such as flooding or storms. The PGA Disaster Relief Fund is supported exclusively by donations from PGA Professionals. Paul suggested developing a matching program where Members made contributions to the Section and the Section matched the funds up to $5,000. The Board was very supportive of the idea and encouraged Mark Harrison to contact the PGA of America about the feasibility of such a program. WNB Web.com Midland Event Moved to April: Mark Harrison informed the Board that the Midland Web.com event has been moved to April. The move is good for the Section as we will have 14 qualifying spots available vs. four spots when conducted in the fall. The increase in qualifying spots will mean an increase in participation. The TOUR and Section have discussed the possibility of moving the qualifying out of Midland due to the hotel room shortage. The move also means that the three spots that are determined at the Western Championship are not available due to the timing of the event. The Board voted on conducting three separate qualifiers with one spot available for Class A Members at two separate Metro Chapter Professional Series events (open to all Section Members) and also one qualifier held at Midland CC in April.
