areas combined.

Budget Projections for 2012

§ The Foundation will pay 57.5% of all general and administrative expenses, which is the same as
2011.
§ Summary – The combined revenue for the Section and Foundation is projected to be
$3,573,225.00.
The Board approved the 2012 Section and Foundation Budget Projections.
Section Tournament Report
Mark Harrison provided a brief overview of the Section tournament operation.
Tournament Schedule and changes to the 2012 schedule and also provided a sponsor update.

Eligibility for Inactive Members in Texas Events
§ Craig Brown lead a discussion of allowing Inactive Members the ability to play in team
events conducted by the Section or Chapter. After discussion, Ronny Glanton made a
motion to allow Inactive Members to participate in team events including the Pro-Pro
and Pro-Scratch on a space available basis. The Board approved the motion as stated by a vote of
6-0 with four Board Members abstaining from voting.

Texas Joe Black Cup Captain
§ Billy Harris declined the opportunity to captain the Northern Texas Team in 2012 due to a
scheduling conflict at the club. After a short discussion, Lindy Miller was named the 2012 Texas
Joe Black Cup Captain.

James P. Jordan Cup Captain
§ Thomas Devanna was named the 2012 James P. Jordan Cup Captain.

Senior Junior Format
§ The format of the Senior Junior was discussed and it was decided that the event would
remain a four-ball stroke play event with two divisions, but would be reduced from two days to
one day and the event would be played in the fall.

Tournament Rules and Regulations
§ A summary of the changes to the Rules and Regulations was provided and approved by
the Board.
Junior Golf Foundation Report
Mark Harrison updated the Board on recent Junior Golf Foundation activity.
§ Legends Junior Tour Update
§ The four organizations operating the state’s most prominent junior golf programs have
formed the Texas Junior Golf Alliance, a new partnership that is designed to give junior
golfers greater access to top tier competition statewide and ease the burden of travel
expense.

The Texas Golf Association (TGA), the Northern Texas and Southern Texas Sections of
the PGA of America and the Houston Golf Association (HGA) have formed a group whose goal
is to simplify qualifying for the Legends Junior Tour’s statewide high profile events. Collectively
51
