Northern Texas PGA Annual Meeting Westin Galleria – Dallas, Texas February 27, 2012 Meeting Minutes President Billy Harris called the Northern Texas PGA Annual Meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. President Harris welcomed Brinker Tournament Chairperson, Stacy Shiels and Doug Brooks, President and CEO of Brinker International to the meeting. Mr. Brooks presented Honorary President, Mark Viskozki with a check for $150,000.00 to the NTPGA Junior Golf Foundation. Mr. Viskozki expressed his appreciation on behalf of the Section and Junior Golf Foundation. Section Member Bill Euler gave the invocation, followed by a moment of silence for deceased Section Members since the previous meeting. Kenneth Wright Chuck Tabor Carlie Tice The roll call was dismissed due to the registration process that preceded the meeting. A motion to accept the following reports as written was made and seconded: Minutes from the previous Annual Meeting, Minutes from the past year’s Board of Directors’ Meetings, the Reports of the Committees, the Reports of the Chapter Presidents, the Reports of the Executive Director, Secretary, Vice President, and President. The membership unanimously passed this motion. The delegation watched a short DVD titled “PGA of America Year in Review – 2011.” Following the DVD, District 12 Director, Ronny Glanton addressed the membership on the activities of the Association. Secretary Paul Earnest addressed the delegation with the assistance of a PowerPoint presentation. He outlined the role of the Section’s Secretary and then provided an overview on the current status of the Association’s and Section’s membership size, diversity and membership trends. He also outlined the National PGA Penetration Trend at Green Grass Facilities and compared the trend to the Northern Texas Section. He recognized the Section Award Winners and Randy Smith who was elected into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame. Mr. Earnest also discussed the purpose of the PGA Member Service Requirement (MSR) and outlined that effective June 15, 2012 the MSR requirement will be changed. Mr. Earnest stressed the value of all Members getting involved with the Section and supporting its activities and engaging in the Association’s strategic plan, Golf 2.0. Vice President Philip Bleakney addressed the delegation with the assistance of a PowerPoint presentation. He outlined the role of the Section’s Vice President and then provided the membership an overview on the financial condition of the Section. He defined the process for budget development and specifically discussed the recent improvements to the Section’s financial strength and stability. President Billy Harris addressed the membership also with a PowerPoint presentation. He outlined the role of the Section’s President and then provided the membership an overview on the change in Executive leadership from Darrell Crall to Mark Harrison. He then highlighted the strategic objectives for 2011 and looked ahead to 2012. Mr. Harris stressed that each Member has an important voice in the process, and he encouraged their continued support. 48
