Jindal University convenes
BRICS Higher Education
Conference: Times Higher
Education (THE) in partnership with
the International Institute for Higher
Education Research and Capacity
Building (IIHEd), O. P. Jindal Global
University is organizing the “TIMES
HIGHER EDUCATION BRICS &
Emerging Economies Universities
Summit 2015” in India for the first
time. The summit is will be held during
2-4 December 2015 at the O.P. Jindal
Global University Campus.
The summit is designed around the
theme “Why Emerging Economies
Need World Class Universities” and
will see several sessions revolving
around themes like developing a
culture of research excellence, the role
of international collaborations in
promoting global excellence. The
summit will also feature an exclusive
first look at the 2016 THE BRICS &
Emerging Economies Ranking results
and Rankings Masterclass with Phil
Baty, THE World University Rankings
editor.
'King's College' opens in
Rohtak next year: King's
College, Taunton an independent coeducational secondary day and
boarding school in Somerset, England,
a school with 135 years of educational
history will open the first ever British
Partnership school in India at Rohtak
(Haryana) next year. King's College
India is being introduced to India by
Strides Charitable Trust. Commenting
on the launch, Anshul, President,
King's College India said, “I am
delighted to play a major role in the
launch of this new, fully British,
partnership school and I am looking
forward to seeing the positive effect it
will have on the education sector in this
country.”
King's College India, NCR Delhi,
Rohtak is scheduled to open in August
2016 for children in years Standard 1 to
Standard 8. However, the admission
process is likely to begin by November
2015 and the school will be taking
enrolments for children aged 6 to 13,
mirroring the UK Prep-school system.
The curriculum will initially be
modeled on the British Common
Entrance system, which generates
academic excellence for children up to
13 and creates a platform for later highperforming success at IGCSE and Alevels.
