The Christmas season is fraught with moralistic stories of giving and taking, should’ve and shouldn’t, could’ve and couldn’t,
would’ve and wouldn’t. Amazingly, it’s not just grammarians
that have written in with pedantic critiques of OUR advice. I
write ‘our’ loud and quite proud because should any situation
arise where OUR advice leads to litigation of any sort, I just
work here, I don’t sign off on the advice for the big ones. Talk
to the boss.
When I agreed to become an advice columnist, and ran through
the submitted questions, many things went through my brain.

How can MY life experience help people?
2.
Am I empathetic enough to help people that I deem stupid?
3.
Oh my god, are people this stupid?
4.
Holy shit. People ARE this stupid.
With that explanation behind me, I’ll let you in on the fact that I
didn’t even answer these questions myself! See, I received a Ouija
board for Christmas! You know, that thing incorrectly pronounced
WEE-JEE all the time? I was given one for Christmas (how amazingly representative of the birth of Santa).
