four districts. Pastoral care of the scattered
migrants was given priority by Sangli Mission
from its inception. Now they are brought together
under five full fledged parishes and two semi
parishes ereted canonically. In all these centres
there is regular catechism, family unit prayers
and associations for different sections of faithful.
It is a welcome sign that these migrant Christian
faithful are prayerful and witnessing communities
in this less Christian area. “The believers who
were scattered went everywhere preaching the
message” (Acts.8:4)
Formation of Christian
Communities
Prayer gives vibrancy to the work of
evangelization. Amalashram retreat centre at
Talsande is known all over Maharashtra. Fr. Benny
Arthanakuunel and team conduct regular retreats
in Marathi and other language for the Marathi
people. The local Christian community at Kodoli
is the fruit of the work of Fr. Benny and gives
