INSIDE WORD
A FEW WORDS FROM THE EDITOR
A
very warm welcome to The Investor 2Q:2014. Following from the overwhelming success of The Investor
1Q:2014 edition, we thought it only right to give our
readers even more quality data and investment insights that will
keep you abreast of economic and financial information as it occurred in 2Q:2014.
Our editorial team received a warm reception to the first edition,
and as a show of our appreciation we still have your complimentary copy as a prequel to 2Q:2014. You can download a free copy

The Investor magazine was conceived out of a need to inform
serious foreign direct investors of domestic financial and investment market play in Sierra Leone. As a business, we decided to
cover the micro and macro areas of the market as well as industry
sectors. Most information portals focused on areas outside traditional markets, which in our professional opinion gave Sierra
Leone the image of a long shot and risky alternative investment
play.
Our value proposition is quite simple - simplification of our domestic markets, whilst keeping the information streamlined with
global norms.
After long deliberation, our dedicated editorial team came to a
unanimous decision to treat our domestic markets like any other.
That is, to quantify markets in currencies, equities, fixed income
and commodities whilst keeping a close watch on geopolitical
events that could ultimately influence these markets.
We believe that by quantifying domestic markets to a greater
extent gives credence to investment decisions and identify risks
in a much more focused manner.
Investing in Sierra Leone or any other country will never be
complete without the holy grail of FDI (Local Knowledge). For
this reason, we have developed a number of indices designed to
give our readers and serious investors a true picture of domestic
markets and investments in Sierra Leone.
Our forecasts are underpinned by current and historical results,
up-to-date data, and in-depth analysis of current and future investment trends, all brought to you by dedicated and passionate
investment professionals with a multi- disciplinary approach to
finance.
As a show of dedication to our readers we have launched a website parallel with the magazine.
Visitors to the site will receive up to minute information on domestic, regional and global markets. They will also be briefed on
currency, interest rates, and market volatilities in various instruments and asset classes on a regular basis.
We welcome your participation and hope to engage you in a
broader discussion in this second quarter edition.
