REGIONAL EQUITY MARKETS
T
rading on the Sierra Leone Stock Exchange during the 2nd quarter was limited due to market
liquidity issues and the number of listings. Currently, only one listed stock is being traded on the
market. The exchange is index weighted by market capitalization. There are only two market participants in relation to stock trading. It is a relatively new exchange, however during the course of the year
and as participants become aware of the benefits, my guess is we will witness an influx of firms using the
exchange to raise capital or participate in introduction offerings. On 9th June 2014, the Sierra Leone
Stock Exchange All Share Index decreased from its previous level of 692713 to 490344.

SLSE INDEX
he Investor commends the exchange
for its efforts in keeping an
orderly market, albeit trading is limited. The stock
traded on The SLSE is
Rokel Commercial Bank.
We are guessing the exchange will become more
vibrant as Central Banking
policies change to reflect
long-term demands for
capital.
