Say YES Family to... Love LOCALS ON TV BY WILL DAVIS A Forsyth bride and her entourage appeared on the hit TV show “Say Yes to the Dress” on the TLC Channel in July. Courtney Martinage of Forsyth and her quest for a wedding dress on “Say Yes to the Dress” was filmed at the show’s Atlanta store and studio on Dec. 14. Martinage and T.J. Morgan of Forsyth married on Aug. 23. TLC invited Martinage to be on the show after she visited the Say Yes to the Dress store in Atlanta last year. Martinage was looking for a wedding dress after getting engaged to Morgan. She mentioned to a store clerk that she was anxious to get married because her grandmother, Hulda Martinage, had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and wanted to be there. The “Say Yes to the Dress” crew took an interest in Martinage’s story and filmed Courtney as she shopped for just the right dress with her sister Holly Martinage, her mother Diane Chigges, her bestfriend Emily Farmer and Courtney’s grandmother, Hulda Martinage. Chigges said her grandmother loved their time together picking out a wedding dress and taping the show. Sadly, Hulda died about one week after the taping. “We never dreamed eight days later she would be gone,” said Chigges. Having debuted in 2007, “Say Yes to the Dress” is now in its 10th season. The show averages about 2 million viewers. west mane 18 West Main Street Forsyth, GA 31029 994-3313 www.westmanesalon.com A Full Service Salon Offering the Latest in Products and Styles Free Wi-Fi • Hair Cuts • Color • Hair Extensions • Foil Hi-Lites • Waxing • Pedicures Sylist/Owner Kelly Hiers, Crystal Pastor, Kip Rochester, Mallory King, Josie Pena, Erika Mercer 12 Welcome Home: The Forsyth-Monroe County Relocation Guide and Membership Directory
