A message from Stacey Johnson, President, East and Winter Park Campuses
East Campus students from the Valencia Technologic Club joined together and gave a helping hand to
members of the Visual Aid Volunteers of Florida. A team of five Valencia technology students from the
student club accompanied professors of computer programming Dave Brunick and Dennis Hunchuck to
deliver two hands-on workshops on Microsoft Windows 8.1 at the Visual Aid Volunteers of Florida (VAVF)
annual conference in Orlando on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
In the true spirit of volunteerism, the students dedicated a full day of service between spring and summer
semesters to serve VAVF in advancing its Braille and audio technologies for the visually impaired.
Additionally, the students volunteered themselves and the entire Valencia Technologic Club for any
technical consultations members of VAVF may require in the future.
