Content of Training
Delegates will have an understanding of the legislation involved with drug administration, along with being able to follow procedures set for safe administration. Delegates will also have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and security in all procedures of drug administration. The training will also include: • Introduction to Medicines and Prescriptions • Medicine Supply, Storage and Disposal • The Safe Administration of Medicines • Quality Control and Record Keeping • Accountability, Responsibility and Confidentiality

Delivery
1day workshop followed by distance learning support, independent study and research, one to one work place practice.
Assessment
Delegates will put together a portfolio of work products, (including observation of workplace practice) which will be marked by the assessor, internally verified by the IV before certification is awarded via City & Guilds.
