HERITAGE WALK TO
THE CAPITAL
From the Orange city we left, with orange caps on
our heads, straight to the capital of India, Delhi. The
train was scheduled to be a super fast train but it
was excruciatingly slow and reached about an hour
late. A metropolitan city with a historic past is what
one may feel while travelling in Delhi. The place is
truly a cosmopolitan city which has brought within
its fold people of all ethnic groups and their
traditions and culture, reflected in a variety of arts,
crafts, cuisines, festivals, and lifestyles. The
important places visited in Old Delhi were the
majestic RED FORT, QUTUB MINAR and
HUMAYUN’S TOMB. On the other hand it is a
modern city designed by SIR EDWIN LUTYNES which
houses many government buildings and embassies.
We also visited LODHI GARDENS, AKSHARDHAM
TEMPLE and JAMA MASJID in old Delhi.
Bus
terminus
The literal meaning of the word terminus defers
that...”a bus terminus is a designated place where a
bus or a coach starts or ends its scheduled route.”
While it may be of prime importance to be the
passenger, the location of the terminus may be
made according to the convenience of passengers,
so it is of very prime importance that we learn the
considerations to design such a module.
So a study tour was conducted at the two bus
terminus of Hyderabad one of which i.e. Mahatma
Gandhi bus terminus is considered to be Asia’s
largest. And a data was generated and analysed in a
way that included a comparative standard based
study resulting into a matrix that will help in
designing of a bus terminus in the near future.
The next important phase of the tour was visit to
the former capital, AGRA. It is a city of many
splendid Mughal-era buildings, most notably TAJ
MAHAL, AGRA FORT AND FATEHPUR SIKHRI.
