Reconnect, Re-Engage, Reinvigorate, and Reminisce with SFC!
There are so many ways to reconnect with SFC—what are you waiting for?
RECONNECT RE-ENGAGE
(re-k -’nekt)—To join, link, unite,
or bind; to establish successful
communication between two
parted entities. (re-in-’gaj)—act of committing oneself, a pledge or a promise of involvement.
W
hether it has been one year or 50
since you walked across that stage,
shook the President’s hand and
officially became an alumnus/a, there is
one constant: St. Francis College! Every
time you wake up in the morning, go to
work, get that big promotion or break-
through in your career, get married, and
have children, you are linked to SFC.
We are so proud of all of our alumni
and their accomplishments. It is
important to remain connected with SFC
throughout your career and keep us
informed about all of those milestones,
highlights, and achievements.
We want to share those successes
with the rest of the Terriers out
there through this magazine, our
website, and social media.
N
ot only is it imperative to remain in contact with SFC, but equally essential to stay
in touch with your fellow alumni. Networking is a vital component to advancing your
career and personal relationships. Who better to fill your network than other SFC
alumni—those with who you share a similar experience, memories, and journeys?
There are many ways to get involved with your Alumni Association. We work closely
with the Enrollment team distributing information about SFC and encouraging future
Terriers to follow in your footsteps. Alumni can join current faculty presenting their unique
experiences and answering questions from our current students. Or you can simply
mentor a current student along his/her journey to graduation.
Once you have become an Alumni Ambassador you will be invited to exclusive events
that will take place throughout the year. Most recently, we held regional events in Breezy
Point, Stamford, Connecticut, in the Hamptons, and also had St. Francis College night at a
Brooklyn Cyclones game where President Martinez-Saenz, Ph.D., threw out the first pitch.
We will have exclusive opportunities to attend prime events in the luxury suite at Barclays
Center with fellow alumni. Events like these allow us to show our appreciation and gratitude
for our volunteers who give their time, talents
and treasure throughout the whole year.
The Alumni Association affords you
the opportunity to get in touch with
other alumni at events, through social
media outlets, as well as getting
involved as an Alumni Ambassador.
REINVIGORATE REMINISCE
(re-in-’vi-g -rat)—fill with life and energy, to rouse into activity. (re-m -’nis)—to recall past
experiences, events or time periods
of significance in one’s life.
O
ur charge is to truly develop an exceptional alumni engagement program. This
will include many new initiatives, including using this publication to celebrate the
discoveries, accomplishments, successes, and milestones of you, our alumni.
We will also continue to increase our presence online and through all of the social media
outlets. Our team is dedicated to posting the most relevant and current news and notes
regarding SFC and your fellow alumni. You will soon have the capability to search for
fellow alumni through an online directory, seamlessly update your information, or submit
something for this magazine.
We will also be revitalizing the Regional Alumni Chapters Program, where prominent
faculty members or administration will visit with our alumni all over the U.S. and abroad
and let them know what’s been going on at SFC. Some of you may be unaware of how
many alumni are in your local area. These Regional Chapter events will give you the chance
to find out.
We challenge you to think back on your experience here at SFC and remember
the groups that you spent time with—be it your team, a fraternity or sorority,
or a club or organization. We would like to have reunion events throughout
the year in order for you to get together and celebrate with all of those Terriers
that share your special interests. These are just some of the things to look
forward to in the coming years.

T
hat first day on Remsen Street,
or your first Terrier Tuesday, the
first time you wore the Blue & Red,
the internship to commencement; you
have shared so many significant memo-
ries with those who came before and after
you at SFC and most certainly with your
fellow classmates. Ensure that bond
stays intact.
Stay in touch with us, or even
better become an Alumni
Ambassador and assist with one
or many of our current or new
programs. Either way, we are
looking forward to reconnecting
you with St. Francis College! ●
