1950s
William J . Brooks ’ 51 and his wife Maxine are living in Shellpoint , a retirement resort community with 400 acres and an 18 hole championship golf course . When William looks back , he thinks of his days at the College and how the Franciscan brothers contributed to so many blessings in life .
Thomas J . Wallace ’ 56 wishes everyone a successful year , and is grateful for the education he received at the College . He feels it is a significant contributing factor in all the success he has achieved in his life .
Michael J . McPartland ’ 57 is now a retired teacher of English in the NYC Public High Schools and the City University of NY . He celebrates over 56 years of being inspired by his Franciscan education .
1960s
Robert J . Ball ’ 61 is thrilled to have had his daughter Kristen and his two grandsons , Jack and James ( pictured below ), visit the College and learn more about his alma mater .
Donald A . Lomangino ’ 64 recently returned from a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago in Spain . Donald walked 125 kilometers ( 77.7 miles ) over eight days . He retired 10 years ago , and now volunteers in a literacy program with the Tulsa City-County Library . He also teaches English as a second language to immigrants .
Robert C . Sloane ’ 66 and his wife Pam celebrated the birth of their first grandchild last year , and are extremely happy to be grandparents .
Walter J . Ford ’ 67 retired in 2006 from BMW of North America after 19.5 years with the company . Walter was Publications Specialist in the Parts Logistics Department . He now serves as Office Assistant to the Pastor at The Catholic Church of St . Joan of Arc and Our Lady of Mt . Carmel in NY .
Charles Parente ’ 68 was elected President of his Home Owners Association of Seville in the Community of Grande Dunes , Myrtle Beach , SC .
John A . Fedele ’ 69 retired after 35 years on Wall St . as a systems analyst .
Anthony Santorufo ’ 69 is a volunteer in radiation oncology at a cancer care center and is a respite foster parent for intensive treatment children .
1970s
George J . Johansen ’ 70 and his daughter Kristin ran the Brooklyn Rock ’ n ’ Roll Half Marathon in October with 15,000 other runners . George finished 11th in his age group ; in 2 hours and 10 minutes . Kristin finished 4th out of the 7,500 women and was the first American born finisher .
Michael P . Magnavita ’ 71 still recalls many happy days at the College , and sends greetings to his fellow 1971 graduates .
Kenneth B . Lam ’ 72 was recently inducted into the College of Staten Island Hall of Fame for basketball . Kenneth was inducted into the St . Francis College Hall of Fame in 1994 .

Eleanor F . McCabe ’ 76 has been enjoying her retirement for almost 25 years , and spends her time traveling and volunteering . She has fond memories of being an evening student , considering it a pleasant and rewarding experience .
June McGrisken ’ 76 Retires

After 15 years at St . Francis College , Executive Vice President June McGrisken ’ 76 retired from the College , ending a journey that began when she enrolled in the College ’ s first fully co-ed classes in 1972 . An experienced CPA with an amazing ability to see the big picture and solve the small problems , McGrisken was presented with a St . Clare Medal of Service at her retirement party January 23 and told that a classroom would be named in her honor .

In addition , Kenneth Daly ’ 88 , President of National Grid New York , announced the June McGrisken National Grid Scholarship and Internship to be awarded every year to a St . Francis accounting student who excels in the classroom . McGrisken is one of the more than 100 St . Francis graduates who worked at National Grid , formerly KeySpan Corp ., in the areas of finance , accounting , treasury , human resources , and auditing .
At St . Francis McGrisken was integral to the functioning of the College , overseeing facilities management , finance , human resources , institutional research and planning as well as admissions and student financial services .
In retirement she ’ ll be able to spend more time with her family of fellow graduates ; husband , Ron ’ 80 , sister
