as an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Wittenberg University in Springfield , Ohio . After earning tenure and promotion at Wittenberg , Dr . Martinez- Saenz accepted and held two administrative appointments : Assistant Provost for the First-Year Experience and Associate Provost for Academic Affairs .
Among his accomplishments in those administrative roles are the creation of a student-centered first-year experience aimed at easing the transition to college life , an artist-in-residence program , and the development and implementation of programs that promote diversity , equity , and respect .

Notably , while in Springfield he was a founding board member for a non-profit organization that works with social service organizations to assess , develop and implement strategies to strengthen their capacities ; more recently , Dr .
