For more than 10 years (1963–1974), James F.
McElroy ’77 was skipper of some of the most
successful baseball teams in St. Francis College
history. As coach of the Freshman team and later
Varsity, he accumulated a record of 155–101,
winning two Knickerbocker Conference baseball
titles and two Middle Eastern College Athletic Association
baseball championships. He helped develop three minor league
players and loved St. Francis so much that when he finished
coaching, he became a student and earned a degree here. ●
Enrique Rios
Enrique Rios transferred to St. Francis
College in 2015 with
hopes of completing
his degree in sociology
with a concentration
in social work. Sadly, his dreams were
cut short in June. He was one of the 49
people killed inside the Pulse nightclub
in Orlando, FL. ●
