YEARS IN BUSINESS : 32
I began my career at Petland while I was still in high school . It was a dream come true to be able to work at the store because of my love of animals . Sixteen years later I bought the store . Petland Terre Haute has always been a locally owned , family ran business . Both of my kids and my father have worked at Petland and helped me with the business through the years . I love doing something we can all enjoy and be involved in . My employees are also like family as many of them have worked here numerous years .
People joke and call Petland “ The Terre Haute Petting Zoo .” Being here for 30 plus years , I have enjoyed watching local customers ’ families grow as they have visited the store over the years . Their kids grow up and have families of their own and continue to visit the store . I enjoy being able to help customers find the perfect pet for their needs and meeting the needs of the pets they have .
We also enjoy being able to give back to our community by donating to local sports teams , schools , nursing homes and many other charities especially St . Jude Children ’ s Research Hospital .

YEARS IN BUSINESS : 310 years
Did you know that 75 % to 80 % of cardiac arrests happen outside of a hospital setting ? Knowing this , Terre Haute CPR came to be . We wanted to educate our community in First Aid / CPR / AED , one person at a time . With the knowledge of these skills , anyone , no matter what their age or profession , could be a lifesaver . During the current pandemic Terre Haute CPR has stepped up their efforts to provide critical training for frontline healthcare works . At the end of every class we say , “ We hope you will never need to use these skills , but if the situation happens , you will have the skills and knowledge you will need to save a life ”.
GREATEST PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT : It is rewarding to hear student ’ s testimonials of how the skills we taught helped save a life . It makes us proud to know that our students leave our classes feeling confident with the First Aid and CPR skills that they were taught . We are proud to have had a small role in saving a person ’ s life . It is for this reason that we continue to work hard .
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND PASSIONS : Over the years Terre Haute CPR has partnered with numerous Healthcare Providers , Teachers , Child Care Givers , Community Organizations , and Local Businesses etc . It is our goal that everybody has the knowledge and skills of First Aid / CPR and be able to save a life , but hopefully never use the skills !
