Tell us about your career journey . How did you get where you are today , and who / what helped you along the way ?
Being a part of a family business has always presented unique challenges and my father has helped along the way . Morris Trucking is turning 97 years old this year and I am the fourth generation running the business . We have evolved from hauling produce , refined oils and now dry palletized products .
What ’ s an accomplishment of which you are most proud ?
I
am most proud of my family . We support each other in all of our endeavors . If you bungle raising your children , nothing else really matters .
What ’ s the source of your motivation ?
It is easier to stay motivated by choosing a healthy lifestyle and participating in local bicycling and running events . It provides time away from work and family to recharge my creative nature and maintain a strong work ethic . If you do not have your health , every other challenge in life is so much more difficult . Working with folks that are genuinely good people and who make me laugh a lot , turns tough days into tolerable days .

Why you chose to be Executive Director : 8 years ago , I wanted to help lead and advocate for mental health ; to help fight for those that can ’ t fight for themselves . I also wanted to help people develop a voice to be their own advocate .
Greatest Professional Achievement : In 2019 , I was honored as Community Social Worker of the year . That same year , I was presented with an award for 12 Under 40 . Receiving these awards was a very humbling and rewarding experience and I was honored for the recognition .
Community Involvement and Passions : Currently , I am President of the Vigo County Drug Free Coalition , Vice-President of the Board of Directors at FSA Counseling Center , Terre Haute South Rotary Club and a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority .
