It focuses on lifelong BFFs Pamela and Angela , who are both married and have teen children . Angela tells Pamela she ’ s addicted to texting . An auto accident occurs , leaving Angela ’ s only daughter in a coma and Pamela responsible . The film is co-directed by Beard ’ s son Daniel .
Asked how she comes up with the topics for her films , Beard said , “ Really , the Lord just leads me . I know a lot of people don ’ t like to talk about religion , but that ’ s just the way it is with me . He lays these issues on my heart and I begin writing them . This film in particular took me five years to write .”
Though Beard does not shy away from controversial topics , she said she can never predict what her audience ’ s response will be . For example , “ The film that I would say was the most offensive was a short film we did in 2015 called ‘ Cries Unheard ,’ a short film just under 30 minutes . I was extremely proud of that film and I thought it would do extremely well at film festivals . It did not .” It tackled bullying , racism and child abuse and was “ a very tough movie to watch but I felt it was so important ,” Beard said . By
