SWOPE ART MUSEUM The Sheldon Swope Art Museum is located downtown in a 1901 Italian Renaissance building. The building is ornate and elegant, and the museum is known for its collection of American art. The Swope Art Museum is known for its extraordinary collection of nearly 2,500 works of American art, including paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from the 19th century to the present.

INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY ' S UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY & TURMAN ART GALLERY Indiana State University ' s Department of Art and Design is home to three art galleries: the Yang Family University Art Gallery, the Turman Gallery, and the Bare-Montgomery Gallery. These galleries, with their diverse artistic mediums, styles, and themes, are not just for display. These galleries feature works from ISU students, faculty, and visiting artists, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary artistic trends. The University Art Gallery is in the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts, while the Turman Art Gallery is in the Fine Arts Building.
