Ida Dorthea
On a cold January day in Copenhagen (like this one),
the decision made itself - I had to go somewhere
soon, to see something else and feel something new.
I wanted to fall in love with Europe in spring - and I
was curious about how the youth would be different
and alike around different cities in the EU.
So I took off, with only a few connections and no more
plans than for the two first weeks.
The series is a tribute to the people I met - and became close with.
Every feeling I got about a city, came from the people
in it - which show off in the way I’ve captured the
portraits of the city.
The portraits are of the people that let me in, and
made me a part of their world.
All young, beautiful and dedicated to having fun,
enjoying the moment, and exploring life.
This is the very beginning of blooming relations - and
a portrait of the growing european youth.
What really inspires my work is relations, intimacy,
sexuality and expressions. It’s still hard for me to
conclude on the project, because it’s so new to me,
and so alive still.
